Connections: Discussions about Judaism

Primary Text: Here All Along, by Sarah Hurwitz

  • Who is this class for?
    • For those who have been attending services and/or “doing Jewish” for all these years and want to talk about why we do it and what it is about
    • For those who stopped attending services and/or “doing Jewish” years ago because we were not getting out of it what we wanted
    • For those who are new to Judaism and want to explore more
    • For the curious and the seeking
    • Older adults, younger adults, college students, high school students.
  • Who is this class not for?
    • It is not for those who have all the Jewish answers and no Jewish questions.
  • Topics will include: Talking about God; Israel; lifecycle; kashrut and food ethics; mitzvah; covenant; peoplehood; challenges in our Jewish (and not so Jewish) families; the exodus from Egypt and Jewish social justice; the here and the hereafter; lifecycle; differences between Jewish denominations and more
