The Temple Israel cemetery, located in Dunmore, PA, is one of the congregation’s most cherished assets. The cemetery is overseen by a committee of volunteers who are devoted to both their preservation and enhancement for future generations. Aided by the generosity of the Robert H. Spitz Foundation, generous grants have enabled us to move forward with significant improvement projects at our Dunmore cemetery. The funds have been used to improve the entrances, roads, security, and grounds.
The congregation’s commitment to maintaining the cemeteries is to observe the legacy and tradition of the Jewish people and provide a sacred burial ground for its members and their families. Those interested in purchasing one or more plots in the Temple Israel Cemetery should contact Cemetery Committee Chair, Lewis Sare at 570-342-0350.
Burials, ceremonies, and approved activities may only take place during the cemeteries’ open hours and not on Saturdays or other holy days as designated by the rabbi of the congregation. For information about maintenance or access to the cemeteries, please contact our office 570-342-o350
