DESCRIPTION: A Wandering People: Jewish Journeys\, Real and Imagined\n\n\n
  	\nAs the pandemic surged and forced us into our homes\, many of us dream
 ed with a new intensity of being elsewhere. For Jews throughout the ages\,
  the promises and perils of travel have been central to shaping the indivi
 dual and collective experience. Notions of home and homeland have been red
 efined by Jewish wandering. Drawing on literary\, spiritual\, and historic
 al sources and responses\, JTS scholars will explore what happens when Jew
 s—whether by force or voluntarily\, whether in reality or in the imagina
 tion—travel from one place to another.\n\n 	\nJune 7 to August 23 on Mon
 days 2:00-3:30pm ET\, followed by an open Zoom session for our congregatio
 n to reflect on the lecture with each other and with Rabbi Spitzer when sh
 e is available.\n\n
